Ingredients

For Stir Fry
200g firm tofu, pressed and cubed
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
1 small carrot, julienned
1/2 cup broccoli florets
2 spring onions, chopped
1 tbsp sesame oil or any cooking oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp grated ginger

For Sauce
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp hoisin sauce
1 tsp vinegar
1/2 tsp red chili flakes (optional)
1/2 tsp cornflour mixed with 2 tbsp water
Salt to taste
Black pepper to taste

 

Step-By-Step Method

Step 1: Heat 1 tsp oil in a non-stick pan and add tofu cubes. Shallow-fry until all sides are golden and crisp. Remove and set aside

Step 2: In the same pan, add remaining oil. Sauté garlic and ginger for a few seconds until fragrant

Step 3: Add all vegetables and stir-fry on high heat for 3–4 minutes. Keep them slightly crunchy

Step 4: Add the prepared sauce ingredients to the pan and mix well

Step 5: Add the fried tofu cubes and gently toss everything together. Cook for 2 more minutes until the sauce slightly thickens

Step 6: Garnish with spring onions and serve hot with rice or noodles

 

Manish Tip: For extra flavor, marinate tofu in a little soy sauce and ginger before frying, and use toasted sesame seeds as garnish
